I bought the bell Super Air R and then the Giro Switchblade for my kids...and damn...I reeeeally like the Giro.

It feels more solid, has a much better jaw conversion mechanism, and BARELY weighs any more than the R.

That said, they’re both amazing, lightweight, versatile helmets that will make you fall in love with full-face.

Which Should You Get? Bell Super Air R or Giro Switchblade

Buy the Air R if you reeeeally want to shave grams off, but know that it’s very minimal. If you’re not riding hard, the weight you save MIGHT matter/be noticeable on a longer ride.

Buy the Giro Switchblade if you want a really solid helmet that’s highly functional. If I fell while doing DH, I’d rather be wearing the Giro!
